The last step for me at the university of Wismar ...
was the defense of my Bachelor's Thesis – around 20 minutes of talking and same time of answering questions.
Before this day I thought about how to present my final work. The first thought was: "Ok, I will make a PowerPoint presentation."
The next thought was: "Nooo, that's too universal. Why not make a presentation in the style I made the thesis?" At this moment my
decision was clear. It will be a HTML5 presentation.
In the first minutes of my defense I talked about mobile operating systems and made a short comparison between native applications
and web applications (development, interfaces, up-to-dateness, advantages, disadvantages). After that I showed a small index of
the rest I wanted to talk about.

Concept & Design |
The goal of this presentation was to show my work as close as possible to the listeners – not only text
on a slide like normal but an interactive walkthrough. The explanation of the navigation arrows and the canvas element for
example are shown interactively with the arrows, which are used to navigate through the presentation. Another example are the animated
white dots which start to grow after calling up another part to indicate a clickable area. The section "JavaScript" is devided
horizontally into 3 parts and with a click onto the markers you get short informations about JavaScript, the DOM and
jQuery. Or the article Touch – to immitate a touch gesture you
can use the mouse to switch between the 4 illustrations. Above all was AJAX. I utilized that in the
way to shift the different articles.
From now on I think I will try to take a text editor as often as I can to write my presentations than using a WYSIWYG editor.
The presentation was only written for usage on desktop computers or notebooks. This doesn't mean that
you cannot watch it on mobile devices; there are only a very few parts missing in that configuration. It was just there for these
20 minutes of talking and so it is optimized minimally for offline usage.
